Oklahoma Republican Party Urges Congressional Delegation to Pass SAVE America Act
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — August 31, 2026 — The Oklahoma Republican Party State Committee passed a resolution on August 22nd urging Oklahoma’s congressional delegation to make passage of the SAVE America Act a paramount priority in order to strengthen election integrity and restore Americans’ confidence in the electoral system.
The resolution cites concerns surrounding illegal immigration, election security, vulnerabilities in electronic voting and ballot-counting systems, the protection of American voter data, and the presence of noncitizens on state voter rolls.
“Voting integrity is foundational to our republic,” the resolution states, emphasizing the importance of securing elections before the upcoming midterm elections.
The Oklahoma Republican Party is specifically calling on Oklahoma Senators James Lankford and Alan Armstrong to use every available procedural avenue—including amendments, public pressure, and other legislative mechanisms—to advance the SAVE America Act toward passage in the Senate.
The resolution notes that more than 80% of Americans support requiring photo identification to vote and proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time.
The State Committee also expressed its appreciation for Congressman Josh Brecheen for his continued efforts to advance the legislation.
“The Oklahoma Republican Party thanks Rep. Brecheen for his stalwart tenacity to pass this bill, including public statements and amending legislation,” the resolution states.
