On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Oklahoma State Committee met in Oklahoma City at Higher Plain Baptist Church, and passed a resolution to oppose SQ 832. This state question includes a proposed $15 minimum wage initiative set to be voted on during the June 2026 election. This measure would impose drastic wage hikes on businesses across the state, threatening job growth, small business viability, and economic freedom in Oklahoma. Mandating such increases—phased up to $15 per hour by 2029 and tied to urban cost-of-living indexes—ignores the realities of our diverse economy and risks higher unemployment and business closures, particularly in rural and lower-cost areas.
